1 - OUR 4TH ANNUAL MCDC CRAB STEAM:
On Saturday, August 14 we will hold our 4th Annual MCDC Crab Steam.
This is our primary fundraising effort; in 2009 80% of our funds came
from the Crab Steam.
State Senator Ralph Northam will speak and spend the evening visiting
with everyone at the Crab Steam. Krystal Ball, our amazing candidate
for the U.S. House of Representatives, will kick off her Mathews County
Campaign at the Crab Steam. You'll want to talk with both of these
wonderful Democratic leaders.
There are three critical ways you can help with the Crab Steam at this time:
a - Purchase a ticket: $25 for adults; $10.00 for children 6 - 11
yrs. old. Children under 6 yrs. old are free. Contact Melinda Maddox
(725-2889), me (725-9030) or any other MCDC member to purchase your
tickets. We will not sell tickets at the door because we need an
accurate count for the crabs before that.
b - Become a Sponsor: Bob Warren is recruiting sponsors for the Crab
Steam. This is another way you can support our grassroots effort. In
grassroots fundraising training we learned that we should try to obtain
enough sponsors to cover the costs of the fundraising event so that
ticket sales are your net profit. We did that in 2009 and hope to
